A seasoned Engineering leader in cloud and edge computing, Kubernetes, networking & communications, Saurav has worked on systems as diverse as cloud orchestration of edge compute at Intel, network virtualization at Big Switch Networks, datacenter switches at Arista, and optical systems at Enablence. He currently serves as VP of Engineering, AI and Emerging Platforms at Nokia. Previously at Intel’s Network & Edge Group (NEX), he led the team that developed Intel’s Edge Manageability Framework, a cloud based platform for managing Edge infrastructure and AI apps. Intel acquired Ananki, a startup he co-founded to provide private-5G solutions based on Aether for smart enterprises. Previously, as VP of Engineering at the Open Networking Foundation, he led the development and production-deployment of solutions like Trellis, SD-RAN, and VOLTHA in collaboration with network operators like Deutsche Telekom, Comcast, AT&T and other partners.
He was also part of the original team at Stanford that made SDN popular. His pioneering research on SDN in WANs proposed, demonstrated and analyzed a converged IP/MPLS/Optical WAN architecturally based on SDN and OpenFlow. He holds PhD in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.
